Accounts Manager

Part-Time, Lubbock, Texas

Position Overview:
The Accounts Manager will oversee financial operations, including client invoicing, grant reporting, and vendor payments. This role ensures accurate and timely financial processes, supports organizational compliance, and provides key insights to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Invoicing

  1. Prepare and send accurate invoices to clients based on project deliverables or contractual terms.

  2. Track payments and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely receipt of funds.

  3. Maintain a clear and organized system for managing client billing records.

Grant Reporting

  1. Collaborate with project lead to track grant budgets and spending.

  2. Prepare financial reports and invoices for grant funders, ensuring compliance with grant terms and deadlines.

  3. Reconcile grant-related expenses and revenue to ensure accurate allocation of funds.

Vendor Payments

  1. Manage vendor accounts and ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices.

  2. Verify the accuracy of invoices against purchase orders, contracts, or agreements.

  3. Maintain records of payments and ensure compliance with internal approval processes.

Financial Administration

  1. Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.

  2. Work closely with auditors or project lead to support budget audits and other financial reviews.

Compliance and Record Keeping

  1. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including grant requirements and tax laws.

  2. Maintain organized and accessible financial records for internal and external reporting.

  3. Implement and improve processes to ensure efficient financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, financial management, or a related role.

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and compliance, especially for grants.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Harvest) and spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel, Numbers).

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in non-profit or grant-funded organizations.

  • Familiarity with federal or state grant reporting requirements.

Work Environment:

  • This is a hybrid position, with both remote and in-person touch points.

  • Applicants must be located in Lubbock, Texas.

  • 5-10 hours per month

  • The role may also include occasional extended hours to meet deadlines.
