WEPN: April 2021-Call for Participation

Okthanks is looking for participants to conduct a usability review of the WEPN provider setup process.
It will take 1-5hrs of your time and it’s pa$d.
Who are WEPN & Okthanks?
WEPN is an open-source tool that provides hardware and a system so you can "Provide Uncensored Internet In Minutes To Your Trusted Family And Friends."
Okthanks is an interaction product design team focused on improving the usability and design experiences of those within the Internet Freedom community.

Interested Participants
We want all those interested to be able to participate, however, there are a few helpful considerations for the engagement to be most successful. Please review the following criteria before applying:
Stable or consistent internet service in their home
Access to an internet router in their home
Access to 2 devices
1) a phone (android or iOS will do) for the setup of WEPN
2) a second device (phone, computer, laptop, iPad) for the live call or recording of the process
Feel safe engaging in the setup and running of a VPN in their home on their phone
Feel comfortable with video & audio recording for note capturing purposes-- content will not be shared with anyone else besides the Okthanks and WEPN team
Timeline for Participation
The engagement will take about 5-10hrs of your time to fully complete (Note: time will span a few days).
The Usability Review will consist of 3 things:
General Experience Review of the setup process for a Provider of WEPN
You will be asked to go through the setup process on a live/ recorded session with Okthanks. It is helpful that this individual finds value in the service provided and fits within the Provider use case and has never used WEPN before.
Document findings
Debrief with Okthanks
Note: The Usability Reviews will take place in English. If you would like to participate and don't feel confident in your English skills, please reach out to hello@okthanks.com and we will find a solution.
We hope to begin with Usability Reviews in April.
We would like to begin the process of coordination and shipping of hardware as soon as possible. Please follow the RSVP steps if you are interested in participating.
What You Get by Participating
Participants will receive a $$ stipend
Participants will be shipped a WEPN device & required hardware which will include a user manual.
Your feedback will be shared with the development team of WEPN. This is a great opportunity to improve the usability and use case considerations for a Provider of WEPN.
